About Our Site: Colorado Navajo Nation
Our site office is based in Shiprock, NM, within the Navajo Nation Shiprock Service Unit (SRSU), which covers areas in NM, AZ, and UT. We operate alongside other diabetes programs, all united in our goal of promoting the well-being of Native youth and their families. Although we are remotely located in Shiprock, NM, this study is coordinated by the LEAD Center, in Colorado.
The Lifecourse Epidemiology of Adiposity & Diabetes (LEAD) Center is a research and training hub established in 2015 at the University of Colorado (CU) Anschutz Medical Campus, as a joint collaboration across the Colorado School of Public Health, the CU School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics, and Children’s Hospital Colorado. The LEAD Center’s mission is to investigate risk factors and consequences of obesity, diabetes, and other chronic disease from early life through old age.
